Licensing and Accreditation

California State Certified Health Care Provider

Design for Change Recovery is licensed and certified by the State of California for health care treatment (State License #190795AP).

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has sole authority to license facilities providing 24-hour residential non-medical services to eligible adults who are recovering from problems related to alcohol or another drug (AOD) misuse or abuse.

If a facility exceeds the minimum levels of service quality and is in substantial compliance with the State program standards, specifically the Alcohol and/or Other Drug Certification Standards, it will be eligible for certification.

JCAHO Certification

Design for Change Recovery is proud to announce that it is accredited by The Joint Commission and awarded its Gold Seal of Approval™.

Our facility is part of the Joint Commission On Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The Joint Commission’s accreditation standards are extremely high; only the best treatment facilities in the world are honored with its accreditation.

To receive JCAHO accreditation for substance abuse, our facility had to pass a meticulous review of our treatment structure, program, practice, and outcome. We are committed to our patient’s treatment and their contentment with our services.

JCAHO’s standards center around patients’ safety and high-quality care. Their mission is “to continuously improve health care for the public, in collaboration with other stakeholders, by evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value.”

They update their exceptionally high standards and issues with a new standard manual every single year.

The Joint Commission serves as an oversight agency, ensuring and monitoring patient care quality and safety in hospitals, clinics, and addiction treatment facilities. Our addiction treatment center is committed to quality assurance and providing safe and quality care to our clients. If you feel the care provided by our treatment center has compromised patient safety or failed to meet the quality of care standards, please contact our Executive Director at 661-800-4828. We will promptly address any client concerns. If, after contacting us, there are lingering or unaddressed concerns, please feel free to contact The Joint Commission by either calling them at (800) 994-6610 or sending an email to complaint@jointcommission.org.

Why License and Accreditation Is Important

To legally treat clients, treatment facilities must obtain a state license. To obtain a state license, our facility must meet the state’s expectation of quality treatment. Our facility also goes above and beyond a state license to receive accreditation. Our facility offers:

  • High-Quality Care: We ensure the highest quality of addiction treatment. To obtain a license and accreditation, our center must meet high standards to treat people battling substance abuse and mental health issues.
  • Highly Trained Staff: Our staff members are experienced, qualified, and certified to treat substance abuse. Not only are they highly skilled, but they are also caring, loving people who want each client to receive the help they deserve. Most of our staff have had an addiction to touch their lives in some capacity, so they are empathetic to each client that receives treatment with us.
  • Access to Medical Staff: We have a certified physician, psychiatrist, and nurse who oversees medical detox in our accredited rehab program here in Lancaster, California. If a client needs medication, our physician or psychiatrist will administer and watch over the client. Detoxing should always be closely monitored because quitting cold turkey can have dangerous consequences. Safely expelling toxins built up from drugs and alcohol is done in our safe, secure, comfortable environment. Staff members will make sure they do everything possible to ensure the client’s comfort.

Here at Design for Change Recovery, we work hard to ensure clients receive a highly customized treatment plan so they get the most out of their stay with us. We have helped many clients obtain long-term sobriety through our addiction treatment programs. For more information about our licensed drug rehab in Lancaster, CA, please contact us.
